Hilton Head Island Beaches
Hilton Head Island offers over 12 miles of beautiful
beaches. Our beaches are easily accessible from
any of our accommodations and are the perfect
setting for long walks, bike riding, kite flying,
beachcombing & building sandcastles.
Our beaches are home to a variety of wildlife
including starfish, sand dollars, hermit crabs,
horseshoe crabs and whelks. These creatures make
up an important part of our eco-system and we
hope you and your family enjoy discovering them
along our beaches.
Just offshore you will want to keep your eye
out for the bottlenose dolphins that swim up and
down our coastline each day. Manatees can also
be spotted in our waters during the summer months.
The Loggerhead Sea Turtle comes ashore from May
through October to nest on our lovely beaches.
These turtles are a threatened species and are
federally protected. Their nests of eggs, once
laid in the sand are marked and monitered, so
please enjoy but do not disturb these special
sites.
